The Acadians: A Brief History

The Acadians are the descendants of 17th century French settlers in Acadia, the first permanent French settlement in North America, located primarily in the Canadian maritime provinces and parts of Maine. This presentation will provide an overview of Acadian history, from the early settlement days, to the Great Expulsion and finally contemporary Acadian culture in eastern Canada, Maine and Louisiana.
