The presentation highlights the similarities between the American economy and that of the National Hockey League. The previous, failed Collective Bargaining Agreement will be discussed, along with the new one created in 2005, following the complete loss of the 2004-2005 season. The changes in the new contract between the league and the players union will be examined. Finally, suggestions will be proposed for future changes to improve the contract. These changes will also try and accommodate effects felt by the league due to the recent American recession.
