Diet culture can be defined as a group of women who are constantly eating or not eating, exercising, or planning exercising. Many women have found themselves immersed within it, spending mass amounts of time dieting, exercising, and assessing their bodies. In this presentation, the researcher will propose a qualitative study of six young women who are living their lives completely immersed in the diet culture. She will look at contributing aspects of the media, and discuss the methods to be used in order to answer the questions of how and why women become so involved in our society’s diet culture.
