This presentation looks at the role of women and children in the Amish community as contrasted by the tradition of Rumpsringa. Rumspringa is an Amish rite of passage that permits Amish boys and girls to indulge in “English” social customs before committing themselves to their faith. Through powerepoint and video, audience members will be exposed to some of the controversies surrounding this practice within the Amish culture.
