Chemical dependency treatment is very complicated. It should not only involve treating the addiction, but tackling whatever issues are present in addition to the addiction. In particular, women substance abusers tend to have unique issues such as stress due to motherhood and trauma. This study explores what treatment modalities are most beneficial in assisting the fight to remain sober as well as what psychoeducational topics are beneficial for women who are in chemical dependency treatment.
