Ballet under Louis XIV, the Blitz in London and the Headscarf in Contemporary France

This panel integrates three separate research papers. The first on Louis XIV's use of ballet for political and cultural power; the second on women's experience in WWII London during the Blitz and the third investigates the wearing of Islamic women's headscarves in France starting in 1989 in the context of its secular culture.
