The Lord of the Rings: A Readers' Theatre Presentation

Over more than fifty years, J. R. R. Tolkienís Lord of the Rings has been the best known example of high fantasy literature, and the movies by Peter Jackson have attracted a new audience. In recognition of this ongoing popularity, this readersí theatre production is presenting two sections of The Fellowship of the Ring not included in the films. Tom Bombadil is a colorful and well-loved figure who befriends the hobbits as they set out on their dangerous mission. He is an intriguing character because of his powers and unknown origins. After leaving the security of Bombadilís lands, the hobbits meet up with a shady roadman in the town of Bree. Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, Butterbur, Merry, and Pippin are among the favorite characters who appear in this scene at the Prancing Pony Inn.
