Frankenstein and Double Consciousness

This paper applies W. E. B. Du Bois's theory of double consciousness to Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein to reveal not only the working of double consciousness in the novel, but to expand and clarify Du Bois's theory through close readings of the novel.
