With the understanding that a school counselors role is to support and engage the essence of the “whole” student, the The presenters will conduct research on whether high school counselors use spirituality when counseling students. The researchers seek to identify how spirituality impacts the direction and effectiveness of the counseling session. The presenters summative evaluation looks to provide insight as to how spirituality in the counseling session is a benefit to the student and an effective tool for the school counselor. Questionnaires and focus groups were the proposed evaluative apparatus’ used to collect the data from the Rochester City School District School Counselors. The presenters poster session will feature the frequency of the use of spirituality in the school counselor setting and the perceived effectiveness of incorporating, supporting, or encouraging the use of spirituality in the high school counseling session.
