This paper focuses on risk management with an overview on five different natural hazards, which include earthquakes, landslides, tornadoes, hurricanes, and floods. For each hazard, we will discuss the potential triggers and the effects on society and the environment. Different prevention methods will also be presented and evaluated, including short and long term consequences. Using different mathematical techniques we will suggest the best prevention method, taking into consideration new risks that come about after a chosen strategy has been implemented.
