The presentation will be on the abandoned settlement of Tryon in Ellison Park. Tryon represents one of the nations first planned urban developments and is the first established U.S. settlement in NY and quite possibly the country. The site is also home to both colonial British, and French forts, as well as a Seneca trading outposts and portage stop. We will be focusing on the sites development and cultural interaction that happened during its occupation.
