Vietnam continues to struggle with the effects of thousands of years of war - from China's 1,000 years of occupation to America's 20 years of invasion. The nation's culture, politics, and history are reviewed from the past 13 years of Brockport students' experience of delivering services to the Vietnamese via the Brockport Vietnam Program, the only program of its kind in Vietnam. This presentation will report research results about the program alumni's transformative experience as a result of participating in the semester program in Danang, the effects of program development and service issues, and an offer to be involved in this unique public/private partnership.
