Legislative Issues Affecting Nursing in 2012

Things that happen in the legislative arena have an impact on what happens to nurses, the nursing profession and health care. Health care issues at the local, state and national level will be discussed. The major issues at the state level in 2012 include Safe Staffing Ratios, Educational Advancement for RNs, Safe Patient Handling, and Single Payer Health Plan. A summary of recent legislative successes by nurses as well as tips on being politically and legislatively active are included in this presentation.
