Motivations and Restrictions of Rural Chinese Women Migrating to the City

In China, were filial obligations a catalyst in helping to create gender specific pressures on rural Chinese women? Were these pressures able to help motivate women to migrate to the cities for employment? Finally, how did their experiences differ from the sons of China?
