What happens to learning when students are taken from their normal environment and spend a week together exploring a new city and its rich past? The Protest and Public Opinion class from Winter Session 2012 traveled to Memphis to meet civil rights leaders, to visit civil rights landmarks and to perform service learning in an abandoned Black cemetery founded by former slaves in 1876. This sessions shares what they learned - lessons that were both expected and unexpected.
