Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the 'Cloud'

Computing is evolving away from the desktop model and toward a cloud model, and GIS is no different. Besides the significant efficiencies that cloud computing provides, it also opens up tremendous opportunities for community mapping, public information, and teaching. This talk will introduce the concept of GIS in the cloud and show ways in which it can enhance teaching as well as make GIS accessible to the masses.
