In today's modern world, more socially and environmentally conscious business people have entered the market place. These people don't want to just make money; they want to be able to create products while participating in effective business strategies and practices that have a postive impact on the environment and today's society. This has lead to the creation of a new type of corporation, Benefit Corporations. With New York State adopting this type of corporation in mid-February, this presentation addresses the differences between the traditional C Corporations, Not-for-Profits and the new Benefit Corporations. It will also be looking back at the history of Benefit and B Corporations as well as the impact that Benefit Corporation legislation has had on the states that have already adopted this new type of business.
