Medicinal Plants

Mega-diverse countries are rare to find in our world today. Ecuador, being one of those countries, has 46 ecosystems containing thousands of plant species. Plant life not only provides us with vital gases, but also provides us with the basis for over half of our medications today. This presentation will give an overview of some important medicinal plants found in this area, along with their uses. Additionally, it'll discuss why these herbs are so valuable. Even though Ecuador is teeming with these natural resources, as time progresses they will fade; we can only hope the cures for our most deadly diseases are found before they have vanished.

Please note that presentation times are approximate. If you are interested in attending sessions with multiple presentations, please be in the room at the start of the session.
