What is Scholars Day?
The College at Brockport is celebrating its 29th year of Scholars Day. Scholars Day was instituted in 1984 through the efforts of the College Senate. Scholars Day has continued as a celebration of scholarly pursuits by the campus community.
Scholars Day enables students as well as faculty and staff:
- to present scholarly and creative work;
- to practice disciplinary techniques of public presentation;
- to learn from fellow scholars and artists across the disciplines;
- to engage with members of the college community in educationally meaningful events;
- to support a college culture of intellectual initiative and academic excellence.
In 2011, there were over 320 presentations/poster sessions by 590 faculty/staff/students and 82 faculty/staff session chairs. Please do not miss your chance this year to join us in celebrating student success.
