There are many benefits for students to attend a professional conference. The Resort and Commercial Recreation Association (RCRA) is an annual conference for individuals in the Recreation and Leisure field. Many associations host these conferences to spread the word about their mission and to recruit more members. However, another large part is to introduce younger generations to the workforce. The RCRA conference is a good opportunity for Recreation and Leisure students to become part of an association and develop themselves professionally through networking with professionals in their field of study. Two students in this field, Katrina Mogavero and Joanna Ward have a lot to share about their experience at the RCRA conference. Along with three other students from the Recreation and Leisure department, Katrina and Joanna want other students at Brockport to be aware of the endless opportunities, experiences, connections, and knowledge that goes along with a professional conference.
