The presenter will discuss her findings on the differences between political engagement levels in battle ground and non-battle ground states. After living in New York State for her whole life, she was intrigued to find out what life would be like for those who live in the highly contested battle ground states (i.e- Ohio, Virginia, Florida etc.) during presidential elections. She suspects her research will show that residents of these states will be more actively engaged in politics, compared to those in “safe” states. She plans to present not only her research, but also the effects these differences could have on the politics of the nation as a whole.
