The film, Not Another Teen Movie (2001, dir. Joel Gallen) is a comedic parody of various films that have come out of Hollywood. The film uses mimesis to create an over-the-top and ridiculous rendition of stereotypes that have been created throughout the years in prior films. One stereotype that proves to be pertinent is the “Magical Negro," whose purpose is to aid a film’s white protagonist with his wisdom and insight through his humble and simple personality.
