This presentation will examine the critical reception of Candyman (1992, dir. Bernard Rose); analyzing the debate regarding the film’s depiction of race, and offering the presenter's own interpretation of the film’s complex depiction of race. Among the topics discussed will be how the film portrays life in the projects and how the Candyman character represents racism itself.
