Child sexual abuse and rape are very prevalent in the United States and the world today. The victims of these crimes suffer some very horrifying affects in dealing with the trauma afterwards. These could be post traumatic stress disorder, depression, or anxiety, just to name a few. Some of these can be life long battles. In an attempt to focus in on a specific issue that these victims have had to deal with, women who had been victims of either crime were interviewed and asked specifically how those experiences had affected their intimate relationships afterwards. In hearing their responses along with information from other researchers, therapy and other help that is offered to these survivors could be tailored to help with the specific problems regarding intimate partners in relationships.
