Video Games and the Classroom: A Learning Connection

Today, many adolescents invest significant amounts of time and energy playing video games, even when the games are difficult, tedious, and complex. This phenomenon has led many educators to wonder: What import do video games hold for learning and instructional design in classrooms, grades 9-12? This presentation explores learning principles behind games and how these principles can be used in the secondary English classroom to foster motivation, engagement, and successful learning among adolescents.

Please note that presentation times are approximate. If you are interested in attending sessions with multiple presentations, please be in the room at the start of the session.
