The edTPA (Education Teacher Performance Assessment) Experience from Teacher Candidates' Perspective

The teacher Education Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA) promotes the translation of standards into performance by documenting, guiding, and assessing entering teachers’ performance. It also helps teacher education programs engage in the data collection on all teacher candidates and make data-driven decisions to improve curriculum, instruction and program design (Darling-Hammond, 2012). The presenters were student teacher candidates who piloted edTPA in their student teaching practicum. During this presentation, they will share their experience and discuss the lessons learned from the pilot in 2013. Participants of this presentation will develop a better understanding regarding dos and don’ts in the edTPA implementation.
