This presentation traces the history of Anthony E. (Tony) Mascioli, Rochester native and graduate of the College at Brockport. The discussion centers on Mr. Mascioli’s time at Brockport from 1950 to 1954, but includes a discussion of his life as an openly gay man in both Rochester and New York City. As part of this discussion, the presentation will look at the formation of gender identity with particular focus on the forces that shaped the identity of gay men in the middle of the twentieth century.
