Cultural Competency for Travelers

Traveling to another country can be a wonderful experience. However, it can also lead to confusion if one does not know the way of life of the local people. In preparing to travel it is important to develop a sense of cultural competency for that country. Basic knowledge people should have about the place that they are going to visit include local customs, language and gestures. This will make the trip a more enjoyable and educational experience for the traveler. This presentation focuses on these important elements and gives travelers some useful tools for the road.
