Traditional narratives, such as those regarding creation, are reflected in various aspects of Native North American cultures. Many contemporary and past Native North American societies exhibit this pattern. One of the more distinct ways in which these oral traditions manifest themselves is displayed through culturally set gender roles, specifically those regarding feminine figures. This presentation explores the implications of these narratives and figures.
