Hemingway in Cultural Contexts

This panel will explore the multiple ways in which Ernest Hemingway's writing was influenced by the contexts--historical, cultural, literary--in which he wrote. Speakers will explore such topics as Hemingway as a writer of the 1920s, his representation of the “lost generation,” and his engagement with cultural constructs of gender and sexuality.
