Scholars Day 2005, Wednesday, April 13

The Ogden Project

In the spring of 2004 some residents of the Town of Ogden requested help in updating the history of their township. Lindsay Scott volunteered and began familiarizing herself with the town's past. Late that summer, Rebekah Greene joined her. They divided the task, Lindsay taking the Town Pump history and Rebekah choosing Adams Basin. Since then they have been discovering and researching in primary and secondary documents and holding interviews with long-term residents. Lindsay's segment of the project will be published shortly, and Rebekah's research is nearly finished. Meanwhile, Mary Koegel has joined the group and is looking into the Spencerport schools. The panel of researchers in this session will review the progress they have made and explain how the project has evolved into an ongoing BCEC Internship, one which will climax in the participants' published narratives.
