Scholarships for Students with Disabilities

1800Wheelchair is proud to announce our second annual scholarship award. Established in 2006, the scholarship fund will award one $500 scholarship to an undergraduate student.

The Anne Ford Scholarship
The Anne Ford Scholarship is a $10,000 award given to a high school senior with an identified learning disability (LD) who is pursuing an undergraduate degree.

American Foundation for the Blind
List of scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students who are legally blind.

Anne & Matt Harbison Scholarship
High school seniors with language-related learning disabilities for college education.

Chair Scholar Foundation, Inc.
Offers scholarships for students who are physically challenged, but do not have to be in a wheelchair, and must have serious financial difficulties.

Council of Citizens with Low Vision International (CCLVI)
Offers two scholarships to students with low vision who are attending college.

Deaf Scholarship
Offers a scholarship each year to a student who is born deaf or became deaf before acquiring language skills.

The Ethel Louise Armstrong Foundation
Offers scholarships to women with disabilities in graduate school.

Gallaudet National Essay Contest
Awards are open to deaf and hard of hearing students between the ages of 14 and 19.

Incight Scholarship
The program helps youth with disabilities to advance their education.

The Kenneth JerniganScholarship
Offers a scholarship annually to a student who is legally blind.

Pfizer’s Epilepsy Scholarship Award
Description: This scholarship is given to 25 students who overcome the challenges of epilepsy, are successful in school, participate in extracurricular and community activities, and show a desire to make the most out of college or graduate school.

Lighthouse International
College-bound award for undergraduate and graduate students who are legally blind, registered with their State Commission for the Blind and a US citizen.

Lilly Reintegration Scholarship
In order to be eligible for consideration for the Lilly Reintegration Scholarship, applicants must: Be diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizophreniform, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder.

The Looking Glass
Scholarships for students who have parents with disabilities. Five seperate $1000 awards for high school seniors and five seperate awards for college students 21 years of age or younger.

National Federation of the Blind Scholarships
All scholarships are awarded for academic excellence, community service, and financial need.

Sertoma International Scholarships
Offers two scholarships to students who have hearing and speech impairments.

The Mission of the Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID) is to promote educational equity and excellence for students with disabilities while ensuring that they receive the rights and protection to which they are entitled.

Volta Award for Hearing Impaired
Renewable Scholarship for an undergraduate student who is hearing impaired.
