Faculty Position OpeningState University of New York - Brockport. The Sociology Department invites applications for two one-year, full-time, temporary Visiting Assistant Professor appointments (4-4 teaching load), beginning August 2007. Required Qualifications: ability to teach Introduction to Sociology; doctoral students who are ABD and who are nearing completion of the dissertation will be considered; demonstrated proficiency in teaching; capacity to work with a culturally diverse population. An earned Ph.D in Sociology is strongly preferred at the time of appointment. Areas of specialization are open, but ability to teach at least three upper-level electives is preferred. SUNY Brockport is a medium-sized college (undergraduate student body 6,700) located 20 minutes from Rochester, NY. Brockport is just south of Lake Ontario, near the scenic Finger Lakes.
