The College at Brockport Online Courses

  • 100% Online Courses (Asynchronous)
  • Combined Online Courses (Asynchronous and Synchronous)

The College at Brockport online courses are offered by accessing the Internet. They provide flexible scheduling and learning for students who find it difficult to fit a traditional class into their schedules. Our online courses are taught and taken via the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS). To take an online course, you need to have access to a computer with a connection to the Internet (whether at home, school or work), possess or be willing to learn basic computer skills, and have the ability to work independently and keep yourself on schedule with your studies. If you are transferring online course credits into your program of study, first obtain verification in writing with your home campus that the course credit will transfer.

HYB-Yoga for Personal Health
(Hybrid course with one face-to-face class meeting)

PRO 308.31 (CRN 1614) Campus Location
PRO 308.32 (CRN 1615) MetroCenter Location

The goal of this 1-credit course is to introduce participants to the basic principles and practice of yoga. The course will focus on Hatha Yoga and its associated personal health benefits. Yoga optimizes the health of body and mind. Regular yoga practice can improve health, increase energy and endurance, build strength and enhance flexibility, and reduce stress and tension. The unity of mind, body and soul associated with yoga practice increases awareness and often helps to improve concentration and performance. During the course participants will work through exercises in the privacy of their own home as they review the course materials. At the end of the course the group will meet for 1-day of practice together. Practice will be held on 1/19/2016 (Brockport campus) and 1/21/2016 (MetroCenter campus) from 5-8 pm (students can choose which section best fits their schedule). Course appropriate for all levels.
