FOB puts on a new face
regional artists' work on permanent exhibit

The newly renovated Faculty Office Building (FOB) is sporting a new, artistic look. Faculty, staff, students, and alumni attended an artists' and contributors' reception April 21. The reception officially opened the exhibit to the College and regional community. The building will continue to be open to visitors during regular office hours.

A total of 40 works of art now grace the walls and halls of FOB, and in every medium, from paintings to sculpture, fiber art to photography.

The collection was chosen from submissions by SUNY Brockport faculty, students and alumni, and regional artists.

"We're very excited about this collection, which represents pieces from our faculty, students, alumni and area artists. There are many exceptional pieces and a great variety of media from acrylics to watercolors to sculptures to mixed-media and more," said Robert McLean, School of Letters and Sciences. "We've been told that this may be the largest collection of area artists. It distinguishes the campus as a strong supporter of the arts and provides a venue for the display where the collection can be viewed and appreciated every minute of the workday," added McLean. The exhibit includes the finished works of a class project by SUNY Brockport Art students Elizabeth Schwab, ("Bon Voyage," ceramic) and Sandra Cain ("Bicycle Tree," a functional piece, steel). For more information, contact Karen Kifer, x2394.
