SUNY Brockport

The Department of Social Work, established on the SUNY Brockport campus in 1971, is part of the School of Professions. The department offers an undergraduate major in social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The accredited status of the program provides an opportunity for students to apply to many graduate (MSW) programs as an advanced-standing student and can complete the graduate degree in one full year.

The department also offers a graduate degree in social work (MSW) through the Greater Rochester Collaborative MSW Program. The MSW program is jointly sponsered by SUNY Brockport and Nazareth College. The program has achieved candidacy status with the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates from this program will be prepared for advanced practice within an advanced generalist framework which emphasizes collaboration, empowerment, and a strength's-based perspective.
