Sexual Assault Information and Resources
Sexual assault is a significant problem on college campuses across the nation, impacting 1 in 4 college women and 1 in 6 college men. This webpage will assist students, parents, faculty and staff to become familiar with the resources the college has to offer and provide vital information for victims of sexual violence.
The College at Brockport cultivates and supports a community of sexual respect along with providing a safe environment for all students. Sexual assault prevention and education is the responsibility of all members of the campus community and is a highly collaborative effort at Brockport. Our goal is to increase awareness of sexual assault beginning with the basic definitions of sexual violence, what sexual consent is, informing students on the Code of Student Conduct concerning sexual misconduct, and the relationship of alcohol and sexual assault. Educational efforts target new students and include programs during summer orientation such as College Life Live and welcome week’s SoundOFF Theatre, and bystander training known as EagleCHECK, in addition to ongoing educational programs hosted by health services, women’s center and residential life/learning communities.
