Welcome to Basic Training

cartoon imageBasic training is intended for ALL SUNY Brockport student employees.

Basic training will help you develop the skills you need, and ensure you are paid accurately and promptly.

The training materials have been organized to provide you with a road map through the different aspects working on campus. The course is divided into modules, designed to be studied in order.

This is considered paid training for WS and Temporary Service employees.  Please keep  track of time spent on this (one hour is reasonable), and ask your supervisor to report it as time worked.

How to Begin

  1. use the links on the left to go to the first module: Forms.
  2. For each module, locate any resources and forms required for that module.
  3. Read the module, follow any instructions, and, when done, go to the the next module.
  4. Proceed through each module in order.  Use the Next buttons or the links to your left.

At two places, there are exams for you to take.   The Midterm Exam is self-scoring. Final Exam has a self-scoring section, and a section that must be printed, completed and discussed with your supervisor.

Time spent working on modules may be reported as time worked on your timesheet.   Start with the first module Forms.

This training concept was designed and implemented by Mariangela Annucci, Assistant Director, Clara Bohorzuez-Forero, Graduate Intern, and Laurie Kingdollar, Secretary, all in Career Services.  This interactive web site was designed by Rick Kincaid, Associate Director of Career Services.  Updated material was provided by Vikki Yung and Sara Landes, student employees.
