Publication of Student Directory Information
Under The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the College is giving public notice of its intent to publish “directory information” concerning students enrolled during the 2008 – 2009 academic year.
Directory information includes name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, date of birth, photograph, most recent previous school attended, dates of attendance, field of study, degrees, honors and awards conferred, participation in officially recognized activities and sports, and height and weight of athletic team members.
Students can request that their personal information be suppressed. Suppressed information will not appear in College publications where directory information on students might otherwise be found. Information marked as suppressed will continue to be available as needed by the College offices and by course instructors through the Angel course management system and Banner. In Angel, the student’s information will only appear to the instructor of each course the student is taking. Students can usually see names and e-mail addresses of their classmates on the Angel system, however, this information will not be visible for students who have had their information suppressed. Course instructors (but not students) are able to see the ID photographs of the students registered in their courses.
If students wish that all such information not be released without their consent, they must submit written notification before February 24, 2009 to:
Ms. Sandra Johnston
Office of Registration and Records
