Campus Life
Campus Life is responsible for the following events/activities: Homecoming Weekend, Family Weekend, Welcome Weekend, Weekend Getaways; advisement of the Brockport Student Government; advisement of all recognized fraternities and sororities; Seymour College Union building operations; off-campus/commuter student services; and management of 89.1 The Point (campus radio station WBSU-FM).
Campus Safety
Escort services are available 24 hours a day anywhere on campus through University Police. Call (585) 395-SAFE (7233) for this service.
Blue-light Emergency Telephones
Blue-light emergency telephones are located at various sites around campus. These phones are a direct line to University Police and can be used in case of an emergency (medical, automobile accident, etc.) or to request an escort.Career Services
Career Services offers a wide range of individual activities and services for students and alumni including career exploration and planning, student employment, internships, graduate school information, and assistance with your job search. In addition to normal office hours, drop-in services are available between noon and 2 pm, Monday to Friday. Appointments also may be scheduled.
College Events

Counseling Center
The Counseling Center provides personal counseling in individual and group formats to all registered students. In addition to counseling on an appointment basis, the center also provides crisis counseling, workshops and referrals. Services are free and strictly confidential.
Dining Services
Brockport Auxiliary Service Corporation, or BASC, offers a number of meal plans designed to provide variety, flexibility and plenty of healthy dining options. From 7:30 am – 1 am, there will always be a dining location open on campus to grab a snack or hot meal. You don’t have to be on a meal plan to enjoy our great food. Cash, Easy Money and credit cards also are accepted at all dining locations. Meal plans are exempt from NYS sales tax.
Disability Services
The Office for Students with Disabilities provides support and assistance to students with medical, physical, emotional or learning disabilities, especially those experiencing difficulties with academic programs or adjustment to the college experience.
Drake Memorial Library
The library is open an average of 112 hours per week and provides a wide array of information resources and services in support of teaching, learning and research. In addition to the local collection of nearly 500,000 volumes, library users have access to an excellent collection of databases, electronic journals, video recordings and other types of information.
Gallery Lounge and Gameroom
The Gallery Lounge & Gameroom provides students the opportunity to stop and check their e-mail, sit and relax, study or socialize with fellow Brockport students. If you want more, you can play video games, billiards and air hockey while your favorite music plays in the background. You also can watch your favorite soap or sporting event on either a “small” 32” TV, or on the big screen TV.
Health Center
Outpatient medical care is available to all registered students. The Health Center, located in Hazen Hall, is open Monday – Friday 8 am – 4:45 pm during the academic year, and Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4 pm during summer and semester breaks.
After Hours Care!
A nurse-advice phone line is available after-hours to assist students with urgent medical needs.
Mandatory Immunizations:
Public Health Law requires that all students* carrying six or more credits must:
- Provide proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
- Submit the meningitis vaccine form or the date of immunization.
These requirements must be completed before classes start or the student will be deregistered and not permitted to attend classes. In addition, the Registrar will charge a fee to re-register the classes. Detailed information is available at www.brockport.edu/healthctr/immunizations.html.
*Students born before Jan.1, 1957, are exempt from this law.
Medical Emergencies
For acute medical needs that arise when the Health Center is not open, visit Lakeside Memorial Hospital or Lakeside Urgent Care Center.
Information Technology Services
All students are provided with a NetID to access computing resources at the College. These resources include Webmail/e-mail, Bmail, ANGEL, wireless networking, lab computers, lab printing and Drake Library resources.
Brockport has wireless networking throughout the academic and residential buildings. If you are a resident student and bring your computer to campus, you should read about connecting to the campus network in your residence hall.

International Student Services
The Office for International Student Services offers services designed to meet the needs of new and returning international students. The office is open Mon. – Fri., 8 am – 5 pm.
Park and Ride
A “park and ride” lot is just off Fourth Section Road (Route 31) adjacent to Commencement Drive. Students are able to leave their cars in the lot and ride Regional Transit Service buses to Rochester.
Parking Services
Vehicle Registration:
Everyone parking on campus, including visitors, must register their vehicle with Welcome Center & Parking Services and park in their designated parking lots. The first three days of classes, January 25 – 27, is a grace period to allow time to purchase a parking permit. During the grace period, those without a permit may park in Lots T, U, V, or X without penalty. Those with permits are required to park in their designated area.
If you have not already done so, purchase your parking permit online using e-Parking and use your Brockport e-mail credentials (username and password) to gain access. Please allow one day for processing. Then, use the convenient drive-thru window at the Conrad Welcome Center to pick up your permit. Receipts from online purchases can be used as a permit for up to two business days when displayed on the dashboard.
Parking fees may be added to your student bill and, if applicable, excess financial may be used to cover the expense when properly authorized through the Office of Student Accounts. Other methods of payment accepted online are Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Card. If you choose to pay with cash, check, or Easy Money, you may purchase a permit by downloading the Vehicle Registration Form and mailing or faxing it in.
A non-refundable registration fee is assessed. Lost, stolen or defaced permits must be reported immediately and a replacement fee may be charged.

Members of GSEU or veterans who have served during the time of war are eligible to purchase a permit at a discounted rate. Veteran students must submit a completed DD214 provided by the Veterans Affairs Office.
Other Services Offered
Motorist Assistance Program (MAP)Free of charge, Welcome Center and Parking Services offers lock de-icers, jumpstarts, tire inflation assistance, lockout assistance, and gas transportation to those parked on campus. Call 395-PARK during office hours.
Brockport Fast TRAX
Check out this bike borrowing program where students can sign out a bike free of charge from the Conrad Welcome Center and other hub locations for use up to 24 hours.
Rideshare
This free online ridesharing tool helps match riders with drivers in your area. Simply register online, and then search the database for potential riders/drivers. After a ridesharing relationship is formed consider applying for a Carpool Permit (CP), allowing access to premium parking spaces on campus.

Residential Life/Learning Communities
Residence halls at Brockport are more than places where students sleep. They are vibrant, active communities where significant learning takes place. Residential Life/Learning Communities is dedicated to student success through a commitment to collaboration, community, civility, diversity and responsible citizenship. They are comfortable and affordable, promote the safety of their students, and emphasize academics. They value meaningful involvement and encourage pride and respect. Our community-building program focuses on the total development of a student within the residential setting.
Student Accounts
Student Accounts is responsible for administering a variety of cashier, billing and collection functions, including processing tuition and fee payments, establishing College-approved payment plans, disbursing student refund checks, processing (certain) loan, scholarship, grant and other awards, and counseling students regarding general financial matters.Student Employment
If you are seeking on- or off-campus employment, sign into Job Shop, our Internet database of jobs, or visit Student Employment
All newly hired or job changing students must visit Student Employment to complete an authorization form before starting work. Student continuing in jobs do not have to visit Student Employment. Newly employed students are required to show proof of legal status to work. For most students, this means showing a Social Security card or birth certificate, plus photo ID. Work-Study students who have not visited the office by February 15 will be considered not interested, and the award offer will be canceled. Direct Deposit of paychecks is available.
Student Learning Center
The Student Learning Center (SLC) offers academic support to all Brockport students who wish to improve their writing, math and study skills to meet the challenges of college-level work. Tutors for many courses, a computer lab, extensive reference materials and study skills workshops are offered throughout the academic year. The SLC, located in B-10 Cooper Hall, is open 45 hours a week, including Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. For more information, stop by our office in Cooper Hall or visit us online.
Telecommunications
The Office of Telecommunications is now offering free local and long distance telephone service along with one telephone per bedroom or townhome to all on-campus students. To make an off-campus call, first dial “9,” then, the phone number. To make an international call, a Personal Billing Number (PBN) is needed. Visit us online to get your PBN.

Weather Conditions
University Police operates the COLD Line (585) 395-COLD (2653) November 1 – April 1 to inform students about thruway conditions and local weather warnings.
WBSU (89.1 The Point)
WBSU 89.1 on the FM dial is our College-run radio station and is the official source for information on class cancellations and school closings.
Women’s Center
The Women’s Center provides programs and materials to students and all members of the campus community. The office brings outside speakers, exhibits, films and performances to the College campus to highlight the social, cultural and political contributions of women. These efforts to raise awareness of women’s experiences are designed to broaden the thinking of students and staff, and to keep the campus community informed of current issues, historical trends and interesting developments concerning women’s issues.
