Schedule of Events

All Brockport students are welcome to attend any Welcome Week event, unless otherwise specified.

Residence Hall Check-In (First-year Delta, Honors and Living Learning Community students)

First-year Delta College, Honors College and Living Learning Community students only. Move-in assistance provided for these students until 5pm. Check-in will continue through the evening, however no move-in assistance will be available.

8:45 am - noon

Welcome to Honors Breakfast Reception (First-year Honors College Students)

Take a break and stop by any time during the move-in period. Enjoy refreshments and meet Honors peer mentors and faculty!

Thompson Hall Smart Classroom

2 pm - 5 pm

Honors College Activities with Peer Mentors (First-year Honors College Students)

This required session will help you get acclimated to Brockport academics and the campus community. You will engage in informal activities with your peer mentors, including a campus or village tour tailored to your interests. Additionally, you will receive a free t-shirt and participate in a class photo! Please arrive on time and bring a printed copy of your fall class schedule.

7:30 pm - 9 pm

LLC Welcome Dessert Reception (First-year Living Learning Communities)

Enjoy some delicious desserts while meeting faculty, staff and other members of your living learning community. This is required for first-year LLC students.

Residence Hall Check-In (First-year, transfer and EOP students)

First year, Transfer and EOP students only. Move-in assistance will be provided for these students until 3pm. Check-in will continue through the evening, however no move-in assistance will be available.

Honors Academic Orientation (First-year Honors College Students)

This required session will include breakfast, an overview of Honors College requirements, a symposium on how to make the most of your undergraduate education and achieve your personal goals, distribution of iPads, and an informal meeting with your ‘Introduction to Honors’ (HON 112) instructor.

Open/Final Registration

Not registered for classes yet? Students will not be admitted into the Ballroom without their Degree Audit Report (DARS)! Please be sure to stop by the Office of Academic Advisement in the Rakov Center for Student Services to pick up the registration materials required for registering for classes.

Last Stop Orientation for First-Year Students

If you were unable to make it this summer to orientation, come and receive the necessary information you need before you start your classes. You will receive information about your fall class schedule, learn about your Brockport email account, Angel, Web Banner, myBrockport, meet other students, and take a tour of campus so you know where your classes are located.

Academic Convocation (required)

Mandatory for all new students. Join faculty, staff and students as we welcome you and celebrate the beginning of a new academic year through presentations highlighting Brockport's excellence and pride. Ceremony will begin promptly at 4 pm. For more info: www.brockport.edu/convocation

First Year Community Meetings (on campus students)

Join the Office of Residential Life/Learning Communities as they welcome you to your residence hall community. Your Resident Director (RD) and Resident Assistant (RA) will review policies/procedures as well as effective strategies for your success at The College at Brockport. First Year Seminar/EagleCHECK (required)

Meet the other students in your first year seminar and your peer mentor. Bring your copy of the summer reading selection, “This I Believe II: The Personal Philosophies of Remarkable Men and Women.” This session includes EagleCHECK, an award-winning program that interactively introduces you to the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate college life. Note: the time/location of this session is different from your regularly scheduled first year seminar class

New Transfer Student Welcome (Mandatory for New Transfer Students)

Jump right in-meet your Transfer Peer Mentor (TPM,) interact with other new transfer students, obtain your student ID/parking permit, as well as learn more about academic expectations and resources available to you. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided (free for new students/fee for guests). RSVP required to transfer@brockport.edu.

Saturday of Service (All New Students) (required)

New students will participate in service opportunities that match both community needs and student interests. To select a project, visit www.brockport.edu/serve. Check-in and departures will take place in Lot V. Please bring/wear close-toed shoes and any items necessary for your project.

Shuttles will depart every 15 minutes

Midnight Movie at the Strand

BSG sponsors $1.50 movie nights on Fridays throughout the semester at the Strand Theatre. During Welcome Week, the midnight movie is on Saturday night and FREE with Brockport ID.

Actors present theatrical vignettes in an informal theatre setting on important issues that may affect you as a college student. An informational discussion follows each vignette. 9:30 am: Residents of Thompson and MacVicar 11:15 am: Residents of Benedict/Dobson and all other transfer students 1 pm: Residents of McLean and McFarlane and all off-campus students
