Spring Saturday of Service

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR NEW STUDENTS: The road to service begins with Spring Saturday of Service (S-3). The College offers community service opportunities that support its students as they improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering. S-3 provides an opportunity for new incoming students to engage in 2 hours of community service while forging bonds with each other, as well as other members of the community. This year students can help “give a sick kid a reason to smile… one pillowcase at a time” as we work with the ConKerr Cancer Organization making pillowcases for children with terminal illnesses. No materials are required, just an open heart and a willingness to give back. Volunteers will meet in the Union Ballroom to check in and for a quick 5 – 10 minute orientation. The service project will take place in the Union Gallery on Saturday, January 25, 2014 (on-campus) from 1:30pm – 4:30pm. Those interested in participating may register online here: http://www.brockport.edu/serve/. For additional information please contact Richard Harris (Coordinator of Service & Community Building) at Rharris@brockport.edu or 585-395-5245.
