Schedule of Events for Transfer Students

All Brockport students are welcome to attend any Welcome Week event, unless otherwise specified.

Welcome to Honors Breakfast Reception

Take a break and stop by The Gallery any time during the move-in period. Enjoy refreshments and meet Honors mentors and faculty!

Residence Hall Check-In (Delta College, Honors Program, Living Learning Communities (LLCs))

For students accepted in Delta College, Honors Program, or Living Learning Communities the College will provide move-in assistance for you during this time. Check in will continue the remainder of the evening.

Delta College Welcome Breakfast

The Delta College will offer open-house style breakfast for new students and their families. There is no fixed schedule so stop in and meet peer mentors and faculty whenever you have time.

Delta College Peer Mentor Activities

New Delta College Students: Gather by the Flagpole in the Union Mall to meet and interact with your Delta Peer Mentors and other new Delta students.

Honors College Peer Mentor Activities

This required session for new Honors students is led by our peer mentors. Our mentors will help you get acclimated to Brockport academics and the campus community. This session will include informal activities and a walking tour of campus. Please arrive on time and bring a printed copy of your fall class schedule.

LLC Dessert Reception

Enjoy desserts with faculty, staff, LLC mentors and fellow living learning communities. This is required for LLC students.

LLC Community Meetings

Follow your RA back to your hall for your first community meeting. Review important guidelines, the weekend schedule and programs for the year in your LLC. This is required for LLC students.

This program will provide students who did not attend summer orientation with important information to start the semester off right.

Honors Academic Orientation

Please arrive to this required session no later than 9:00 am. Breakfast will be provided! The morning agenda will include an orientation to the Honors Program curriculum; opportunities for enriching your education through internships, study abroad and extracurricular activities; iPad distribution and orientation; and meetings with 'Introduction to Honors' (HON 112) instructors.

Delta College Jumpstart

New Delta College students: Come meet the people of the Delta College Program faculty, staff, and students. Also learn more about the program itself. Breakfast will be served.

This is your first class meeting for GEP 100, MSC 101, HON 112 and DCC 100. If unclear of where to report, consult a Welcome Week Assistant or check your Brockport e-mail for location and Freshman Seminar section number. During this time, you will also experience EagleCHECK. EagleCHECK is The College at Brockport’s award-winning bystander intervention program that interactively introduces new students to the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate college life, make responsible and healthy decisions related to alcohol and substance use, and contribute to a safe campus community.

New Transfer Meeting/Brunch

Meet your transfer peer mentor and other new transfer students. This session includes an information panel, transfer peer mentor meet-and-greet, an address by a current faculty member on academic preparedness and brunch (free for new transfers, fee for guests.) You should have received an invitation to attend the New Transfer Meeting. RSVP is required. You can RSVP at transfer@brockport.edu.

Extraordinary and Honors Scholarship Orientation

This session is mandatory for all students in the Extraordinary Academic Scholarship Program and Honors Scholarship Program who did not attend a mandatory scholarship orientation during one of the Summer Orientation sessions. Specific information regarding the roles and expectations of students enrolled in the extraordinary and honors scholarship programs will be discussed.

Sound-Off Theater (required)

Actors present theatrical vignettes in an informal theatre setting on important issues that may affect you as a college student. An informational discussion follows each vignette. Please note the following schedule: 9:30am - Residents of Thompson and MacVicar. 11:15am - Residents of Benedict/Dobson and all other transfer students. 1pm - Residents of McLean and McFarlane and all off-campus students.

The Rakov Student services Building will also be open during this time to help with questions regarding your schedule, financial aid, student employment and much more. Stop by the fest for more information, to just hang out and relax, or bring your class schedule for a class finding tour!

Computer Skills Exam

Take the opportunity to complete a General Education requirement before the start of school! Seats are limited, sign up today! You can register for the exam by logging into your ANGEL account. Look for the Exam Registration box on your ANGEL homepage. Click on the Computer Skills Exam link and follow the onscreen directions to register for an exam! Testing will be held in Drake Memorial Library on the ground floor testing labs. We will send a reminder and room assignments to registered students a week before testing.
