REF E54.5 .D53 1993 Dictionary of Indian Tribes of the Americas. Covers native peoples in the entire western hemisphere. That is, all of North America, Central America, and South America. Intended to provide comprehensive overviews of different native groups. Every entry contains bibliographical references for further reading.

REF E98.R3 G46 1994 Dictionary of Native American Mythology. Covers the mythology of Native tribes from Northern Mexico to the Arctic Circle. Each entry prominently lists the tribe associated with the particular myth under discussion. Contains many black-and-white illustrations and photographs and an extensive bibliography of primary and secondary sources.

REF E 77 .H25 v. 4-13, 15, 17 Handbook of North American Indians. Published by the Smithsonian Institution since 1978, this encyclopedic set is a wealth of information. It is divided into geographic areas and into subject areas, such as languages. Contains illustrations and extensive listings of references.

REF KF 8203 1975 Indian Affairs. Laws and Treaties. Multi-volume compilation of federal laws and treaties relating to Native Americans. Laws and treaties date back to the beginning of the 20th century. Each volume contains subject indexes at the back.

Examines the situation of Native Americans during the twentieth century in a collection of entries on a wide variety of topics. Entries include black-and-white photographs and other illustrations and suggestions for further reading.

REF E98.P76 S73 1993 Statistical Record of Native North Americans. The goal of this work is to gather statistics about Native Americans, scattered throughout a variety of sources, and compile them into one volume. Statistics are presented by topic, for example education and business and industry. Coverage goes back to the 1600's in some cases and there is a chapter dedicated to Native Americans in Canada. The data contained in this work are slightly outdated in some cases, but still quite informative. References are made to the original source of the statistics.
