Professional Title Specifications (Alpha)
These positions, under the
general supervision of a Dean at a clinical campus, provide a broad range of professional
academic services in various aspects of program administration. As a representative
of a School or College they may be assigned duties relative to academic affairs
including, but not limited to: research and development of academic programs,
curriculum accreditation, program advisement and counseling, academic calendar
scheduling. Within business affairs duties may include but are not limited to:
overseeing budget preparation and control, providing grant request assistance
to research investigations, program funding control, personnel matters, purchasing
requests and space management. Responsibilities may be assumed within student
affairs, student personnel, and graduate admissions. The Assistant Dean performs
special studies as requested by the Dean and may have responsibility for the administrative
supervision of other professional, technical, clerical and student personnel assigned
to the office or school. May represent the Dean in various meetings with faculty,
students, governmental representatives and members of the general public.
