Registered architect's
certificate or professional engineer's license and several years of managerial
experience, preferably in higher education.
ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT FOR FACILITIES AND PLANNING, performs duties
similar to an Assistant Vice President for Facilities and Operations but does
not have responsibility for dining service, however, also supervises the physical
plant, facilities and security and safety programs for a teaching and research
hospital.
Assistant Vice
President for Facilities and Operations is responsible for the physical plant,
facilities and planning, security, safety and dining services programs at a campus.
Does related work as required. Provides overall supervision for the maintenance,
cleaning and upkeep of the physical plant to assure it serves the needs of the
academic and other programs of the campus; coordinates both the long- range facilities
planning with the academic planning and the shorter range rehabilitation needs
to effect maximum utilization of the existing plant; has overall supervisory responsibility
for equipment procurement and inventory; supervises the overall security and safety
operation of the campus and coordinates it with the overall mission of the campus;
works with campus auxiliary services in providing the campus with an adequate
and efficient dining service.
