Preferred Qualifications:
Registered architect's
certificate or professional engineer's license and several years of significant
and major experience in the operation and maintenance of higher education facilities.
ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT FOR
PHYSICAL FACILITIES, at the largest and most complex campus of the State University
system, is responsible for working with others on camp-as -in the development
of a large new second campus and has day-by-day responsibility for the operation
and maintenance of the existing campus, interim physical facilities and the new
campus, as it is completed. Coordinates with the facilities office, campus academic
executives, consultant architects and engineers and others in the development
of a second very large and complex campus assuring that the viewpoint and future
needs of the physical plant organization are made known during the developmental
deliberations; continually determines that the physical plant perspective is kept
in mind as the new second plant is planned, designed, constructed and turned over
to the university for operation and maintenance; directs a large staff in the
operation and maintenance of existing, interim and new physical facilities; assures
that the physical plant serves the needs of the academic and other programs of
the campus; serves as a member of the managerial hierarchy of the campus and on
many campus committees.
