Positions in this series
are related to the functioning of the campus teaching school which is run as
an experimental teaching program in conjunction with a school of education at
four-year campus or university center. The grade levels of a given school will
depend upon the major emphasis of the education department of the sponsoring
campus -- either elementary or secondary level.
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL in a campus school serves as direct "second-in-charge" to the principal as an overall assistant. Is usually concerned either with generalized participation in all activities, or often with special concern for specific areas of expertise, such a secondary, exceptional childred, practice teaching or speech and hearing areas; assists the principal in liaison with the college education department(s) and represents the principal where required at meetings, seminars, colloquia, etc., and acts as principal when required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Is qualified for and usually holds concurrent academic rank as Associate Professor.
