Individuals must be registered to ensure their constitutional right to vote. Since many employees change addresses when they accept new employment, campus Human Resources Offices should make voter registration information and forms available to all new employees. Other employees should be reminded that they may have to complete a new voter registration form when they move.

The National Voter Registration Act is commonly referred to as the "Motor Voter" bill because it provides for new voter registration opportunities at all Department of Motor Vehicles offices when individuals apply for or renew their New York State Driver's licenses or ID cards. However, for the convenience of SUNY employees, forms and information are usually available from the Human Resources Office. Additional information and forms may also be obtained from the "Voter Registration" link under references and the "Voter Registration Forms" link under forms, respectively, at the end of this section.
