College Receives Coveted NACUFS Award for Excellence
Brockport, NY—The College at Brockport, State University of New York, celebrates the Brockport Auxiliary Services Corporation (BASC), which received a 2009 Loyal E. Horton Dining Award. The award is presented by The National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS). The College’s auxiliary services was bestowed the Silver Award in the Catering Special Events category for its outstanding dining menu for the 2008 Donor Recognition Dinner.
The College at Brockport Dining Service Director Gary Stevens said, “The 2008 Presidential Donor Dinner was an outstanding event and it is an honor for our team to receive this national recognition.” Stevens will be on hand at the 2009 NACUFS conference July 8–11, 2009, in Milwaukee, WI, to accept the award.
The award-winning menu for the 2008 Donor Dinner included an entree of grilled center-cut filet of beef and a savory crab cake accompanied by fresh spring vegetables, herb roasted potatoes with an aromatic béarnaise sauce. Dessert was a trio of mini slices of key lime pie, pound cake with fresh fruit and lemon curd, and a toasted almond crisp with cider poached fruit.
Judging for the 36th annual Loyal E. Horton Dining Award presentation took place April 23–25, 2009.
