Jody Davis 07’ values her experience at SUNY Brockport, where she majored in biology with a minor in chemistry. She also was a McNair Scholar, completed an internship with the Monroe County Examiners Office, and was published in the International Journal of Developmental Biology. “My experience at Brockport College was everything I expected and much more. There were so many opportunities available, whether educational or social, that it was easy for me to have the experience I had hoped for.”

Davis, a native of Hamlin, NY, is now a forensic biologist in the Monroe County Public Safety Laboratory. Davis attributes much of her Brockport experience to Associate Professor of Biological Sciences Adam Rich, with whom she completed a work study program. “Dr. Rich was an invaluable asset for my experience at Brockport. The environment he created in his lab was one of great enthusiasm, not only for research and education, but for living life. As a professor, he was committed to his classes and as a mentor he was perfectly honest and forthright with his opinions. His unwavering support helped propel me to the level of achievement I’ve attained.”

Davis believes her Brockport experience was unique in that, “A Brockport education is special because of what each student and faculty put into the experience.”
